Located northeast of Kent County, Herne Bay serves as the main ‘Heartstopper recording studio.’ The coastal town is located on the Thames Estuary in South East England. With its beautiful coastline, Herne Bay was chosen to feature Charlie and Nick on television. Although the two attend the established Truham Grammar School for Boys, Herne Bay High School in Bullockstone Road operates as a high school in the city.

The Netflix show’s production team also recorded several episodes in Herne Bay Pier at Central Parade, on the beach, and in the heart of the seaside town. Joe Locke, who plays Charlie Spring, has expressed his gratitude to Alice Oseman, author of a web novel and illustrated image, for creating Charlie and his story.
