‘Firestarter’ is a terrifying sci-film based on Stephen King’s anonymous novel. The film follows Charlene “Charlie” McGee, a young girl who develops fire-fighting skills. Given her supernatural powers, the secret government agency seeks to control him and exploit her pyrokinesis. Charlie’s father, Andrew “Andy” McGee, did his best to save him and to understand how she had acquired a supernatural ability.

The film is a re-launch of the 1984 film that followed the same storyline. Talented actors like Zac Efron, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kurtwood Smith, and Sydney Lemmon star in the movie. With its attractive settings and attractive background, ‘Firestarter’ keeps the audience engaged with its virtual reality concept.

Hamilton has been used as the main production area for ‘Firestarter.’ A few scenes were shot at Aeon Bayfront Studios at 243 Queen Street North. The recording studio has a 27,000-square-foot main stage with a 50-foot roof to help the filmed staff successfully frame the required scenes. Another large area was shot at 235 Bowman Street, where the scenes at Lewiston Elementary School were fitted with lenses.

The area is home to Yeshiva of Hamilton, which supports Jewish education through an educational, innovative, and engaging program. Victoria Avenue North and Shaw Street also appear in a few movie theaters.

The Morgan Firestone Arena at Robert E. Wade Ancaster Community Park has been used on Zac Efron-starrer again. The stadium is located at 385 Jerseyville Road West in Ancaster, a historic town in the city of Hamilton. Other locations in Hamilton that have been used to frame the horror movie scenes include the Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Dundas and Valens Road and Safari Road in Flamborough.

Burlington, a city in the Canadian province of Ontario, has hosted a ‘Firestarter’ filmmaking team. Plains Road East in the Aldershot community operates as a film studio. With its strategic location on the shores of Lake Ontario, Burlington is the largest city in Canada that has seen significant financial and cultural developments since its inception in 1874.

With Burlington close to Hamilton, the two cities have strong transportation that facilitates international trade. The city also has a few attractions that reflect Burlington’s rich history and natural beauty. A number of filmmakers have used the resources provided, including the producers of ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop’ and ‘Becky.’
