‘Firebird’ met with a surprising response to an important circle, largely due to weaving a real-time love affair with a heartfelt LGBTQ tint. The story revolves around Sergey, an independent Russian military officer, who is about to complete his compulsory military service and join a simulation class in the city.
At that point, Sergey begins to communicate with a skilled pilot Roman in his final days. What started out as a friendship gradually turned into a lot, but the story kept changing colors from military school to peaceful beaches and hotels. However, you may wonder where the Firebird film was shot.

Firebird Movie Filming Locations
‘Firebird’ was recorded in and around Estonia, Malta, and Russia, mainly in the Harju region and Ida Viru County of Estonia. The recording started on September 5, 2018, and will end on March 1, 2019. The tragic death of Sergey Fetisov in 2018 has delayed production to some degree, but without the inspiration of Fetisov, the Firebird film would not have been possible.
Estonia
To produce a sequel, the crew traveled to Harju Province in northern Estonia, where they shot in the Estonian capital, Tallinn. While living in the city, the group found a gun in Kohvik Komeet, a cafe in Estonia pst 9 in Tallinn. They enlist the help of the Tallinn City Council, whose office can be located at Vana-Viru 12 in Tallinn. Outstanding outside the city was the Museum of Fight for Estonia’s Freedom, located in Muuseumi tee 2 in the Lagdi area on the outskirts of the city.

A group of producers made extensive use of Estonia’s suburbs. The site was set up in the secluded and peaceful area of Black Box Studio, a production facility located at Rohuneeme tee 1/7, in the small town of Haabneeme, nine miles northeast of central Tallinn. They filmed scenes in Kaberneeme, another small town in Jõelähtme Parish of the same region.
The group filmed scenes in Parnu, another coastal city and tourist destination in Estonia. They stayed at a hotel in the city to set up a base and continue recording at nearby venues. Other scenes may be filmed at the Tervise Medical Spa Hotel, a hotel, and spa in Seedri 6 in the city.

Further filming of the film took place in Ida-Viru Province, in the northeastern part of Estonia. While the team was in the area they visited Sompa municipality. They were photographed on the premises of Sompa Club, a beautiful place that doubled as a cultural center, in Humala 1 in the Sompa community. They also visited the city of Kohtla-Järve in the same region.
Another film seems to have taken place at Kohtla-Järve Kultuurikeskus, a cultural center located at Keskallee 36 in the city. Another recording studio in Ida-Viru County was Kohtla-Nõmme, the Toila Parish district. Kohtla-Nõmme Rahvamaja, a park and cultural center in the community, has borrowed its space to record certain scenes.
Republic of Malta
“Firebird.” Recording continued in the Republic of Malta, although details are not yet clear. The island nation that lies in the middle of the Mediterranean is a popular tourist destination for Europeans. According to archeological finds, the history of the island’s settlement dates back to the Stone Age, when Sicilian farmers stumbled upon a piece of land.

By 2019, Malta reached its highest peak in the tourism industry, with more than 2.1 million tourists visiting the country annually, more than three times the population. Cinema products have also contributed to the country’s economic development. In 1925, ‘Sons of the Sea’ became the first film to be made on the island. Since then, more than 100 articles have been shot here in whole or in part.
Russia
It may seem strange in a Firebird film with such a clear LGBTQ ambiance, but a few foreign scenes were filmed inside and around Moscow, Russia’s colorful capital. In an interview with The Guardian, Tom Prior recalled a film recording in Moscow, saying he could not believe it in part.
