Rob LaPlante, one of the main producers of the original show, sat down to interview Nola in September 2017. In an interview, he talked about the decision to record in New Orleans and various aspects of local recording in the city. He said, “This was our first filming Are You the One season in the U.S., and we wanted to find a place with a different flavor.” The production team was constantly looking for a better location and found it in New Orleans, where they set up camp to record episodes of the sixth round.
LaPlante added, “We were looking for a city of love and a spark of life, and that is really New Orleans for me. New Orleans has amazing art, amazing music, amazing food, and all those kinds of things you want to do when you are dating. “He also expressed his excitement about filming the program in a new location. Although New Orleans is a starving beach, unlike other venues previously used in the series, LaPlante considered the city to be a good fit.

To make it all work, though, the producers needed a large, friendly house that looked not only beautiful to the cameras but also far removed from viewers. This meant that they had to travel across Lake Pontchartrain to St. Louis. Tammany Parish went to Madisonville / Covington. Soon, they discovered a huge private mansion located in the picturesque landscape of the river, giving them all the privacy and background needed to capture the real series smoothly.
