When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 9 Recap
When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 9 begins with Lucas giving Elizabeth a birthday present by sending her roses, after which they decide to celebrate by having a family dinner close to Jack. Fiona returns from San Francisco and informs Lucas that Henry has arrived and has had a heated argument with the board of directors.
When they kicked him out, they decided to replace him with Fiona and keep Lucas on the board as an investor for a year. With this disappointing decision, Fiona returns home while Henry stays behind in an undisclosed business.
Later, Bill met Michael, who told him shockingly that he was planning to resign from his position as mayor because of his lack of confidence. Saddened by this, Bill tries to persuade her to change her mind but is interrupted by Joseph, who has few employees in the store due to Minnie and Angela’s temporary absence.
Elsewhere, Rosemary discusses her birthday plan with Elizabeth and Lee, and Fiona and goes on to express her excitement about William Randolph Hearst employee Arthur Gilchrist visiting them soon.
Arthur plans to include their newspaper in the Hearst Publications series, but surprisingly, Fiona is not too happy to hear his name. She phoned his contacts to inquire about his real intent to visit Hope Valley but found out that he was an investor in an oil company.
Although Lee and Rosemary are disappointed to find out about Arthur’s interests, they still hope he will help them expand Valley Voice. At the grocery store, Joseph discovers that Lee had jointly signed his bank loan and feels annoyed that the latter did not ask for his permission, no matter what the practical motives involved.
Meanwhile, Mei Sou decides to return to Chicago to appear in court against Geoffrey, as he continues to file false charges against him. Unable to say goodbye to Nathan, Mei Sou plans to leave peacefully in town but finds herself on top of him as he leaves.
The two of them have an emotional moment of expressing their feelings for each other, after which she leaves without revealing when she will be back. After his departure, Nathan has a lovely conversation with Faith about the things they love that leave them.
Elsewhere, Florence becomes less vulnerable with her new washing machine, which has led to a wonderful gift situation in the mercantile. Not only that, Wyman Walden returns to the city with Julius, and his subtle tactics compel Lucas to tell Elizabeth the truth about their dignified dealings. She fears for their safety and hopes that Lucas and Bill’s plan will succeed, despite the risks involved.
