What If Season 1 Episode 3 is titled ‘What If… The World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes?’ It reveals with Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff approaching Tony Stark / Iron Man in the sense of Avengers Initiative. However, Stark is killed, and Romanoff is arrested for murder. Fury suspects something big is happening and helps Romanoff escape.
At the same time, Agent Coulson acquires Mjölnir in New Mexico. As Thor approaches to find his hammer, Clint Barton / Hawkeye keeps him at the target of his arrow. Barton ends up shooting and killing Thor by mistake. Later, Barton also dies in his cell. Fury informs Romanoff of Barton’s death and asks him to protect Bruce Banner / Hulk. However, Banner was also killed during an altercation with General Ross and his troops.
