‘Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 2 Episode 3 titled ‘We’ll Always Have Tom Paris,’ opens with Boimler to fix life back at USS Cerritos. However, the ship’s plans do not know him. Tendi is upset as she hears that she is being held for a senior position and decides to work harder. Rutherford sees Saxs alive even though he appears to have died in an explosion while saving Rutherford’s life in season 1. According to Mariner, it is not a big deal as Bridge officials return from the dead all the time.
Boimler is thrilled to meet one of his idols, Tom Paris, and Rutherford is puzzled by how Saxs survived the explosion. Tendi and Mariner met for the first time in the mission. By doing so, they realize that they are sharing the same interests. Boimler is beaten by Paris for misunderstanding, and Saxs secretly tells Rutherford how he is still alive. However, when Mariner and Tendi ask him the same question, he denies knowing the truth and points out that something bad happened to the Saxs before his resurrection.
