Stanley Tucci Reveals that he battled cancer three years ago – ten years after losing his first wife to the disease. The Hunger Games star shared a recent health threat in a new interview with Vera Atlantic magazine Vera, which explains that she has a tumor under her tongue.

“It was a lot of work, so they had to make high rays and chemo,” he shared. “I swore I would never do such a thing, because my first wife died of cancer, and watching her go through these treatments for years was horrible.”
Kathryn Spath-Tucci, who married Tucci in 1995, passed away in 2009 following a battle with breast cancer. The couple shares two children. Tucci has two children with his current wife, Felicity Blunt, the sister of his character The Devil Wears Prada Emily Blunt, whom he married in 2012.
“The children were fine, but it was difficult for them,” Tucci continued, adding that he had “a feeding tube for six months.”

With cancer, Tucci shared that it “makes you very scared and not afraid at the same time. I feel much older than when I was sick. But you still want to keep doing things.”
In 2016, The Lovely Bones star opened up about the concern about caring for his wife while battling cancer, explaining to The Guardian that he feels like he owes peace.
“We have tried everything we can to rescue him,” he said. “I wish I had done more and that I would have been with him when he passed away. I wouldn’t be in that room, because I knew it would be so devastating that I wouldn’t be able to take care of the kids after that. ”
Earlier this year, Stanley Tucci Reveals explained to CBS why mourning his late wife is an ongoing process.
“You never stop being sad,” Stanley Tucci Reveals said. “It is still difficult after 11 years. It’s still hard. And it will always be difficult. He will never want any of us to be involved in this tragedy and let it take our lives. He wouldn’t want that. He wasn’t. ”
