Spirit Chronicles Season 1 Episode 9 Synopsis
Season 1 Episode 8, Rio visits the royal capital of the State of Karasuki and Sayo, Shin, and others. Yuba gives King Hayate a letter he gives to his father, Lord Gouki. While Rio is just wandering around with Sayo in the market, a group of men try to kidnap a girl but luckily, the protagonist is fast enough to get rid of the men. However, it later emerged that the girl was Komomo, a member of the royal family.
Meanwhile, when Lord Gouki reads Juba’s book, he immediately asks Hayate if he knows Rio. Soon, the protagonist is called to his house and learns the truth about his family. Twenty years ago, when the Karasuki Empire was at war with the neighboring state, Rokuren, Rio’s father, Zen, volunteered for military service. His martial arts helped him rise to prominence in the royal army, and he was chosen to guard Lord Ayame, Rio’s mother, from the royal family of the Karasuki kingdom.
In time, the two fell in love. When the war was over and an agreement was reached between Rokuren and Karasuki, the negotiating officer became interested in Lady Ayame and tried to kidnap her. Zen, however, made the plan easy, which angered the prince. He cited the killing of Zen as one of the conditions of the treaty and proposed marriage to Lady Ayame.
It was because of the deceptive political situation that Rio’s parents eventually fled. Later, Rio’s grandparents learned all they could about his family and were shocked to learn of their daughter’s tragic death. After fighting with a friendly sword with Lord Gouki, which he easily defeated, the protagonist returns to the Yuba valley.
