Lisa Nowak was born on May 10, 1963, Lisa Marie Nowak (née Caputo) became interested in the space program at a young age after watching the 1969 Apollo 11 campaign. To achieve her goal of becoming an astronaut, she became a student who did everything on time. During her school years and was admitted to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. There she battled intense sexual harassment to gain a foothold and became one of the few women who could be sent to pilot training.

In April 1988, Lisa Nowak married Richard T. Nowak and the couple adopted their son in 1992. During that time, she not only qualified as a Missionary Commander and Leader of the Electronic Army but also earned a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. and degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.
Later, Lisa worked as an Aircraft Testing Engineer and bought aviation aircraft, and was awarded three top awards. In 1996, she was finally accepted by NASA and after two years of hard training and hard work, she completed her training in 1998.
Lisa Nowak gave birth to her twin daughters in 2001 and specializes in using the Space Shuttle robot arm. Her biggest success came in July 2006, when she spent 12 days, 18 hours, and 36 minutes in space on Space Shuttle Discovery. In 2004, problems began to emerge in Lisa’s life as she began dating William Oefelein, her first NASA astronaut for the first time in 1995, and later reconnected during a training program in Canada. William and his wife divorced in May 2005, after the latter discovered his affair with Lisa.
At the end of 2006, the relationship ended, and William began to see the U.S. Air Force Captain Colleen Shipman, who worked as an engineer at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. In January 2007, Lisa broke up with Richard, and William finally told Lisa about his new partner. According to reports, she took the news calmly, and they kept in touch while training for a community-based bicycle race, which sparked a disagreement between Colleen. Unable to manage William and Colleen’s relationship, Lisa decided to deal with the latter and drove 900 miles in Richard’s car on February 4, 2007, from Houston to Orlando, Florida.
The next day, Lisa went to Orlando International Airport and waited for Colleen, who arrived late in the evening after her flight had been delayed. She then followed her on a bus to the parking lot and ran straight to her car. According to Colleen, her assailant started asking her to ride him and tried to open the car door. The first one agreed and lowered the window a little, Lisa just sprayed the car with pepper spray.
Terrified, Colleen drove to the parking lot and alerted the police when she called, who then arrested Lisa. She was caught dumping a bag containing a variety of weapons such as a BB pistol and ammunition, a metal hammer, and a folding knife, as well as a trench coat, latex gloves, a black wig, and trash bags. At the time of her arrest, Lisa was charged with attempted kidnapping, battery, car battery, and tampering with evidence.

On February 7, 2007, Colleen filed a petition to stop Lisa from going to court claiming that she had been stalking her for two months. She was initially granted bail after pleading not guilty, but police charged him with attempted murder with a dangerous weapon in a second trial. Lisa applied for bail and was fitted with a guard to prevent her from approaching Colen. She was also given a 30-day leave of absence from NASA and was released from her post as a Navy officer.
On April 10, 2007, some of the evidence found in Lisa Nowak’s car was released, including details of Colleen’s plane, along with more than 24 items such as cash, a photo floppy disk, an umbrella, and flash drives, and bags full of unknown drugs. Then, on May 11, 2007, authorities released photos showing that she was waiting for Colleen at the airport. In August of that year, Lisa’s surveillance device was removed, and she sent documents requesting insanity protection based on the examination of two psychiatrists.
After several setbacks, Lisa Nowak was ordered to undergo a psychiatric examination in April 2009, and her lawyer withdrew the appeal against insanity the following month. On November 10, 2009, Lisa pled guilty to third-degree felony burglary and misdemeanor battery, and under the admission of guilt agreement, she was sentenced to one-year probation and 50 hours of community service. In addition, she was asked to write a letter of condolence to Colleen. In 2011, Lisa’s court records were closed at her request, for the safety of her family.
Where is Lisa Nowak Now?
Lisa Nowak is probably in her 50’s and lives in Houston, Texas. After her removal from NASA, she continued her maritime military service and worked on developing aircraft training equipment for the Head of Aerospace Training. As a result of her adultery with William and subsequent legal proceedings, Lisa was asked to retire as a commander in addition to an honorable discharge on September 1, 2011.

In addition, Lisa Nowak and Richard divorced in 2008, and she was granted custody of their three children.
