Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 3 Episode 4, When Ishigami sees Nagisa and Tsubasa wandering aimlessly, he begins to complain that high school students should not spend time in love and should focus on their studies instead. Kaguya, who stands next to him, disputes that he sounds like he is talking about wasting time playing a video game. She asks her if she needs a girlfriend, but Ishigami says he doesn’t and he doesn’t need a relationship.
However, when Tsubame enters the room with the traditional ceremonial forms, he begins to do strange and red looks when she hugs her from behind. Kaguya realizes that he has feelings for him and begins to pressure him to agree. When he starts not doing it, she begins to demean her by talking about her hopes never to please him. However, in the end, he says she wants to make Tsubame his girlfriend, no matter what action he takes.
Ishigami finally starts to open up a bit but admits he feels like Tsubame is out of his league. Kaguya tells her to focus on the second-semester exams and get a decent rank as she would like to date a genius to become a top student. In the days that follow, Ishigami wholeheartedly prepares for the exams while politics among members of the student council who are trying to secure top positions are also tense.
Kaguya knows that Ishigami always faces failure in life so he tries to challenge himself. As a result, she devoted much time to make sure that he did not leave any stone unturned in his work. However, despite all the hard work, he only managed to level 152, which was a remarkable development but still nowhere near as much as the titular character expected of him. Meanwhile, Miyuki got first place, and Kaguya had to be content with second place.
Although Ishigami was understandably upset by the results, Kaguya, as his mentor, encouraged him to keep trying and wait for the next tests. Later, Chika invites Kaguya to a dinner party in the Fujiwara area and tells him that Kei and Miyuki will join them again. The prospect of spending the night with the President makes Kaguya happy, and he asks if they can have a dinner party today. However, since Chika’s father is not at home at the moment, he is inviting her to spend the night at the residence of the Vice President of the Student Council.
