Gentleman Jack Season 2 Episode 5, While Ann was away on her trip, Mr. and Mrs. Priestley summoned all the cousins and united everyone against his decision to stay with Anne. The couple assures everyone that because of her ill health, Ann is weak, and possibly Anne is cheating on her for the benefit.
In addition, as Aunt Ann grows up, she may not be able to care for her niece for a long time. So, as a joint decision, they all decide to find Ann’s suitable groom and marry him, in order to preserve the family’s reputation. Gentleman Jack Season 2 Episode 5.
Gentleman Jack Season 2 Episode 4: Recap
Gentleman Jack Season 2 Episode 4, ‘Two Jacks Don’t Suit’ begins with Anne and Ann embarking on a honeymoon in Paris, where they meet Isabella AKA Tib Norcliffe, Anne’s ex-girlfriend. Although she impresses Ann with her shameless manner, she ends up uttering Mariana’s name, which upset Anne.
Later, she asks Tib to stop talking about Mariana in front of his wife, as this might have a detrimental effect on their marital relationship. Tib agrees but is surprised as she feels that Ann is ashamed of Anne and worried about Mariana’s reaction to the marriage.
Anne also feels skeptical of Mariana’s behavior regarding Ann and Ann’s new relationship but for now, she just ignores it. Later, the couple decides to extend their honeymoon for a month and head for the Alps, as Anne wishes to rate Mont Blanc.
However, this does not go down well with Aunt Ann, and she gives Marian an ear about Anne’s character when she visits him. This greatly annoys Marian and she tells Aunt Anne what worries her about her sister, who advises that they should support Anne no matter what the community says.
In Geneva, Anne briefly tells his wife about Mariana and her past to reassure her but chooses to leave important parts of the information to avoid conflict. At that moment, Washington is moving to Crow Nest as instructed by Anne, and Suzannah is coming to visit her family after the wedding.
She speaks ill of her living with the Sowdens, calling their behavior rude. She also discloses that Ben spreads obscenities about him and that although Thomas is a supportive husband, she tries hard to get used to his family.
Hearing his daughter’s complaint, Samuel visits the Sowdens and finds out that Thomas had beaten his brother badly because of Suzannah’s misconduct. Samuel firmly tells the boy to straighten his ways and be kind to Suzannah but gets a little suspicious of Sam’s disappearance and Sowden’s account of the events.
Soon, Anne and Ann were able to return safely from Geneva despite trouble in their car, and the Listers expressed relief. Located in Shibden Hall, Anne asks his wife to allow Mariana to visit so that they can get acquainted, and she agrees.
