In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 17, Tanjiro sees his companions fall one after another into the hands of demonic siblings. Inosuke was stabbed by Guitaro, the geniuses were trapped under the rubble and Tengan’s heart stopped beating. He looks around for a small spark of hope and slowly faints.
Tanjiro, suffering from depression, apologizes to everyone who disappointed him. He wakes up in the snow-capped mountains of his homeland, where Nezuko reminds him of the essence of not giving up. Although it is nothing more than a dream, Tanjiro is calm for a while afterward.

Meanwhile, Janitsu and Inosuke teamed up against Ducky and overtook him with their incredible strength and speed.
Tanjiro finally finds the opening he was looking for when Gutaro’s scythe hits his jaw and he cuts off the monster’s head with a single swing from Hinokami Kagura.
