‘Cha Cha Real Smooth’ is a comedy romance movie written and directed by Cooper Raiff. The movie is about Andrew (Raiff), a bright 22-year-old college freshman who is looking for his place in the world of adults. In this process, Andrew builds a relationship with a young mother, Domino, and her autistic daughter Lola.

How the experiences of Andrew and Domino and Lola shape him into a well-rounded adult lays the foundation for a heartfelt and happy story. However, the upcoming movie also introduces Andrew to difficult decisions and solid facts about adulthood.

Cha Cha Real Smooth: Synopsis

‘Cha Cha Real Smooth’ opens with 13-year-old Andrew attending a bar mitzvah party. Andrew is dating a party organizer, a woman much older than him. The woman gently rejects Andrew’s path leading to his initial heartbreak. Years later, Andrew has just returned from college, with no plans for his future life. He works in a grocery store and lives with his mother, younger brother, and stepfather, Greg. One night Andrew takes his brother, David, to a bar mitzvah party.

Andrew’s lovable personality and endless sympathy help set fire to a boring party. At the party, Andrew meets Domino (Dakota Johnson), a single mother mentioned to other local mothers.

Domino’s daughter, Lola (Vanessa Burghardt), suffers from bipolar disorder and finds it difficult to attend parties. Andrew gets closer to Lola and Domino, helping them to meet others. The success of the group encourages other mothers to hire Andrew as the “party starter” of bar mitzvahs. Andrew accepts the job, thinking that it will enable him to earn more money while deciding what to do with his life.

Andrew becomes Lola’s babysitter and a friend of Domino’s. He finds out that Domino is engaged to be married to a Chicago-based lawyer, Jose. However, Domino can’t help but be attracted to Andrew. Andrew also loves Domino but is embarrassed by his dedication to Jose.

Domino, on the other hand, finds solace in Andrew’s company. Despite her attraction to Andrew, her tragic future prevents Domino from pursuing a romantic relationship. Meanwhile, Andrew is applying for a job with an NGO but does not expect to be called back after blowing up the interview. Faced with the facts of being an adult, Andrew creates an incident at a bar mitzvah party and is forced to take control of his life.

Cha Cha Real Smooth Ending, Explained: What Happened At The End?

During the final part of the movie, Andrew hosts a bar mitzvah party that Jose and Lola attend, but Domino doesn’t go. Andrew finds out that Domino will move to Chicago and marry Jose. The situation makes Andrew drink, and he creates an incident. After returning from the party, Andrew goes to Domino’s house and talks to her about their feelings for each other. Andrew says he loves Domino, but she rejects him. The incident coincides with Andrew’s initial pain as he is forced to face reality and deal with his emotions. Shortly thereafter, Andrew embarked on his new career at an NGO, opening a new chapter in his life.

In the final moments of the movie, Andrew goes to school to pick up David. However, he runs to Domino, and they both have the last heart attack. Domino expresses her gratitude for Andrew’s kindness and kindness to her and Lola. Domino and Andrew say goodbye and move on. Eventually, Domino marries Jose while Andrew leaves his mother’s house and explores a life full of opportunities. So, at a high level, the film ends with Andrew’s bitter note.

Andrew and Domino completely compliment each other and have romantic chemistry that would make them a great couple. In addition, Andrew shares a close relationship with Lola, and the little girl appreciates Andrew’s company. However, despite her unscrupulous actions, Domino doubles her intention to marry Jose when Andrew admits to his feelings for her.

Unlike Andrew, who has a road full of opportunities and no obstacles, Domino’s intelligence is documented by learning difficult life lessons. Her first husband left her and Lola. Therefore, she fears that Andrew may still feel resentful toward her as she grows up to be in her 20s. When the neglected bachelor facade fades and Andrew is struck by the realities of life, he may feel differently about life with Domino and Lola.

However, as Domino explains to Andrew, he will still find out, and it is too early to decide if he wants to settle down with Domino and Lola. So, his big book about pursuing a romantic relationship with Andrew steals a sense of freedom and opportunity for Andrew what her life once took.

The scene of Andrew’s heartbreak reminds us of the movie’s opening scene. Both of these scenes highlight Andrew’s sensitivity and are an experience that trains him as a person. The scenes give Andrew a warm look on the outside and a sympathetic tendency to express his inner danger without much hesitation.

Andrew makes a big difference to Domino, who struggles to put her emotional needs first. Domino tells Andrew that one cannot just decide to love someone and expect a happy ending is a sad honest reflection of the danger a person has when he or she first falls in love.

Cha Cha Real Smooth

Andrew’s warm and respectful response to Domino’s feelings is highlighted during their farewell conversation, and it shows Andrew’s growth from a 13-year-old boy to a mature adult. However, Andrew pierces his heart in the car and turns to his mother for emotional support, and highlights the character as an adult in the act of having a small child inside of him.

In the end, Domino and Andrew do not end up together. However, their time together helps Andrew to cross the symbolic chasm between being an adult and having a real sense of belonging. The last part shows Andrew enjoying the freedom of his 20s, which proves that Domino was right in her analysis of their situation. Thus, the movie concludes with a heartfelt note as both Andrew and Domino find happiness.
