Ben Is Back is a refreshing and mindless film about drugs and how they affect society. The film suggests that drugs should not be illegal and addictive, like cocaine and LSD, but they are common in the broken, modern world. Ben (Lucas Hedges) has no father and has turned to over-reliance on prescription drugs.
He would be repaired a few times, and his return poses a greater threat to the family of Dolly Burns (Julia Roberts), her second husband, Neal Beeby, and her family. Dolly wants to accept Ben, but Ben has ways of wasting things.

“Ben Is Back.”Symmetry opens the film. We see a glimpse of the sleepy city, approaching the Christmas choir. Holly sees Ben standing on the porch as he returns to church with the children Ivy, Liam, and Lacey. Ben has been in rehab for quite a few months, battling Oxycotin addiction. After Ben’s return, the situation at home is tense, though Dolly has a special faith in Ben.
“Ben Is Back.”However, Neal and Ivy think differently – Neal, as has paid for the rehabilitation times for Ben, and Ivy, Ben’s living sister, Ivy has seen Ben since childhood. Ben is also insecure – and his sponsor has asked him not to return home in the first place as there are many reasons for this.
“Ben Is Back.”But on the positive side, Ben is natural with Liam and Lacey, although his seemingly straightforward song hides emotional outbursts. Dolly gets nervous, and Neal’s anxiety worries her a lot as she wants to give Ben a chance. With the help of Liam and Lacey, Ben goes upstairs and gets his old stash.

“Ben Is Back.”Later, Ben and Dolly go to a social event, and Ben meets another addict who used to score goals for him. Later, while Dolly and Ben were shopping for clothes, they saw Ben carrying the drug, and the guards escorted them out of the mall.
“Ben Is Back.”Ben believes that he had taken the drug from a girl at the meeting, but later he discovered that he had found it in an upstairs room. When they returned from singing Ivy, Liam, and Lacey at the Christmas choir, they discovered that the room had been broken into. Ben realizes that there are no burglars, but at the same time, Ponce is not. When Ben goes out to look for Ponce, Dolly thinks it would be nice to go with Ben. “Ben Is Back.”Ben and Dolly’s journey to find the family dog, Ponce, begins with Mr. Richmond, a history teacher. As the wife of Mr. Richmond had cancer, he could get all the doctor’s prescriptions. He used his wife’s authority to become a drug dealer, and perhaps Ben owes him money. However, Mr. Richmond did not kidnap Ponce, which led Holly and Ben to the next house. They ended up at the home of Maggie’s father – Ben’s ex-girlfriend, who died of a suspected drug overdose.

Ben introduces Maggie to the drug, which seems to create some guilt in Ben’s mind. Although Maggie’s father smashes Dolly’s car window in an attempt to get revenge, he appears to have never kidnapped Ponce. Later that night, with the slightest chance of finding Ponce, Dolly and Ben tried to reach a clear moment in the restaurant. At the restaurant, Ben meets his old friend Spencer, who goes by the name Spider. Spencer looks drunk and in a bad mood but has enough power to bring Ben down.
But for Spencer, Ben gets the lead in the home attack incident. Clayton, the leader of the local group Ben worked for, sent men to break into Burns’ home. And since Clayton was the last person Ben thought would be the cause of the break-in, he didn’t want Dolly to go there. Clayton, according to Ben, is a dangerous man, and Ben is not ready to risk Dolly’s life when he meets Clayton. But Ben drives Dolly’s car, which makes Dolly nervous. She ends up at Maggie’s house, and Maggie’s mother, Beth, gives Dolly a quick overdrink kit.

“Ben Is Back.”Dolly went to the store to change the kit since it was out of date but they did not agree with such drugs. Although Dolly broke through the incident, she did not find the group she was looking for. For Spider, Dolly is secretly known for exchanging drugs Dolly found on Ben at the mall.
When Neal calls Dolly, Ben is no longer visible. Dolly says Ben is going with her, but Ivy has installed trackers on the cell phones in the house. She knows Ben is in another city, but Dolly lies that they split up to put more together. Later, however, Dolly arrives at Ivy to find Ben’s place.
“Ben Is Back.”When Dolly got the phone, Ben was not there. He even visits the river, where they all die. Disappointed and frustrated, Dolly phoned Neal, showed him the situation, and went to the police station to write a diary entry. However, with Ben’s help (he leaves Dolly’s phone number on the paper outside the car), Dolly finds the car parked near the house.

At that point, Dolly finds Ben almost dead. While Beth’s suspicions set the stage for the audience, Dolly gives Ben one last chance. After the emergency kit did not produce results, Dolly even crossed the line for the wrong reason, giving Ben CPR. However, Ben returns to life at the end of the film with a jolt. Although the director intended to keep the ending hidden, we conclude that Ben is alive.
“Ben Is Back.”Ben owes Clayton a lot of money as he takes a sum of money and Dolly’s expensive necklace to make a square. Leaving Dolly suddenly, Ben goes to Clayton’s place. Clayton is not satisfied with what Ben has to offer, and Ben has to do Clayton some more work if he wants to get Ponce back. Following Clayton’s order, Ben agrees to do the job, attaching several straps of drugs to his body. In completing the assignment, Clayton hands Ben a medicine bag to reward Ben’s work in the smuggling business. For now, Ben only wants the dog back.

And recent episodes reveal that Ben has already taken the drug. He then left Ponce in a car, headed for the drug parlor where he died of a stroke. When Dolly arrives at the dirty house, she finds Ponce barking outside the house. Even though Ben has left Ponce in the car outside, Dolly finds Ponce in the area. So, chances are the boy who read the note called Dolly to announce Ponce’s place.
Meanwhile, Ben has relapsed into drug abuse, and Dolly has to decide whether to break up with Ben. While Neal and Ivy may be against it, Dolly will probably try again to include Ben in the community.”Ben Is Back.”
