‘The Stronghold’ was completely recorded in France, especially in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region. The story of the movie is set in the same place in the south of France. Therefore, when choosing locations for filming, employees find good places to produce drama. The main shooting started on August 5, 2019, and ended on August 16, 2019.
Bouches-du-Rhone, France Location
The Stronghold movie was shot in Bouches-du-Rhone, a densely populated area in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in southern France. Located in the Mediterranean Sea, the region is known for its diverse landscapes and is, therefore, a fertile area for movie production. Named after the mouth of the Rhône River, Bouches-du-Rhône is also home to the beautiful city of Marseille. A notable sequel to the film was shot in various locations in various parts of Marseille, including Café de l’Abbaye, a small enthusiastic cafe located at 3 Rue Vendome.
Workers also visit L’Estaque, a beautiful Mediterranean town, about seven miles [12 km] from the center of Marseille. The coastal part of this dormitory inspired some of Paul Cézanne’s magnificent paintings. In addition, another sequence was recorded in the studio area of Martigues, a town northwest of Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône. Staff filmed some scenes at Provence Studios, which is the most productive movie venue located at 7 Boulevard Maritime. It covers an area of about 22 hectares. The studio offers a complete film recording solution with multiple recording sets, two backgrounds, several production offices, workshops, and multiple dressing rooms. It is possible that the prison sequence was built in the studio.
